Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill in south Lincoln expects spring reopening after fire

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A popular south Lincoln restaurant that closed due to a cooking fire is gearing up for a spring reopening.

Lazlo’s Brewery & Grill near 56th Street and Old Cheney Road was damaged on Dec. 26 when a woodfire stove burst into flames.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue spokeswoman MJ Lierman said the kitchen and dining room had significant water and smoke damage.

Since then, Lazlo’s has been dormant.

But in an update posted Thursday, the restaurant announced that it expects to reopen in the spring.

“The wheels of progress are turning as construction is well underway, and we’re making significant process,” Lazlo’s said.

The restaurant did not announce a specific reopening date but thanked its customers for their patience and support.

If you’re craving Lazlo’s, the Haymarket location is open.
