Lincoln sex offender convicted of producing child pornography

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln man was convicted in federal court Thursday on multiple child porn charges, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.

Amikhet En Maati, 52, was found guilty of two counts of child pornography production, two counts of producing child porn while on the Sex Offender Registry, and one count of possession of child pornography.

The case began in September 2022 after a report of a girl being sexually abused.

The Lincoln Police Department searched Maati’s home and seized his cellphone.

Investigators found multiple explicit videos of one minor and one video of a second victim, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Authorities said there more videos of the two victims on Maati’s cloud storage account, where a friend and fellow sex offender could see them.

Maati, formerly known as Warren Coker, has two previous sex crime convictions.

In 1997, he was convicted in Douglas County of attempted sexual assault of a child.

Two years later, he was found guilty of second-degree sexual assault and sexual assault of a child in Sarpy County.

Because of his record, Maati must serve at least 45 years in prison on the new conviction.

U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard set his sentencing for May 20.
