Lincoln man arrested after bar fight, officer assault

Lincoln Police arrested 38-year-old Bilal Amin after they say he spit on and assaulted a man at Jake’s Cigar Bar on 14th and P streets early Sunday morning.
Officers were flagged down by witnesses to the bar where they tried to arrest Amin. He took off running from officers but was eventually caught.
But police said Amin didn’t go easily. He struggled after he was caught, and once he was handcuffed and put in the police cruiser. He kicked a police officer in the chest and stomach and repeatedly kicked the windows.
When he was being booked in jail he spit on the officer and two corrections employees, Police said.
He was booked into jail for assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, spitting on three people and assault.
The officer complained of pain and bruising but will be okay.
