Santa visits babies at Bryan East’s NICU

Santa took some time away from preparing for Christmas to visit babies at Bryan East’s NICU.
It’s his tenth time making the rounds of these hallways, but this time he met a special set of twins, Harper and Sloane.
“I think they just wanted to come early so they could meet Santa,” their mom Megan Sonderling said.
Harper and Sloane were born November 25 at 27 weeks. They weighed less than three pounds at birth and have been in the NICU ever since.
“Nobody wants to spend Christmas in the NICU, but we’re just making the best of it,” Sonderling said.
She hung stockings with their names on them and put up a Christmas tree, but despite that, she said she wasn’t in the Christmas spirit, not until Wednesday, that is.
“All my time and energy has been focused on my girls and hoping they grow and develop and mature and today walking up and seeing the cookies the staff made, the Christmas decorations on the door and knowing Santa was coming I finally felt in the holiday spirit.”
