LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after an hours-long standoff at a Kearney home, police say.

Around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the Countryside Mobile Home Park on a report of a disturbance.

Rusty Richard, 34, had been driving through yards and destroying property at a home, police said.

When officers arrived, Richard barricaded himself inside a home with a family member, authorities said.

Police said he was armed with multiple knives.

Authorities tried negotiating with Richard, but he refused to come out of the home.

Four hours later, officers subdued Richard and took him into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including three counts of attempted assault on an officer.

No one was injured, according to police.
