Juveniles in trouble after vandalizing Lincoln church

A trespassing on Saturday night left substantial damage to a Lincoln church.

LINCOLN POLICE Said four juvEniles entered COLLEGE VIEW SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH near 48 & Prescott Ave. after hours, THEN MADE A MESS OF THE PLACE.

Officer Angela Sands said the juveniles sprayed a fire extinguisher around a choir room, dumped food in various locations throughout the church, kicked open a door and spray painted graffiti in the youth group room.

The damage was reported around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Police said church employees had noticed a group of young teens hanging around the church recently and suspected they were involved.

Police waited for the teens to come back and that’s when Sands said they talked to them about the vandalism, Sands said.

Two 13-year-olds and a 12-year-old were referred to the county attorney for theft, trespassing and vandalism and one other 13-year was referred for trespassing.
