City awards $30,000 grant to local nonprofit

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Friday, Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird announced that the 30,000 dollar grant from the Lincoln COVID-19 Response Fund was awarded to the Clyde Malone Community Center.
The Malone Center, located at 2032 U Street, serves the Lincoln community with inclusive, social, cultural, educational, employment, and welfare services.
Since the Fund was launched in March, 932,975 dollars have been granted to local nonprofits.
Since the Fund, hosted by the Lincoln Community Foundation (LCF), was launched on March 20, $932,975 has been granted to local nonprofit organizations. The grants help nonprofits provide access to food, housing, medical information, childcare, and other support.
In total, the Fund has received 1.2 million dollars in contributions, and is intended to support nonprofits supporting those disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
