Police looking for man who lead them on short pursuit before crashing vehicle into a building

Lincoln Police are looking for a suspect who lead them on a short pursuit and crashed their car into a building before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing.

Police were looking for this man after he allegedly tried to get into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend, and when she wouldn’t let him in, he threw an asphalt block through the window. He was driving a silver Nissan.

They saw a vehicle matching that description on 17th street between L and N around 3:00 a.m. Police said it was going between 50 to 60 mph in a 25 mph speed limit zone.

An officer turned on lights and sirens and pursued the car for only seven seconds to see if it would stop. It was considered too dangerous to continue pursuing the vehicle, police said.

They were later called to the Enterprise car rental building near 10th and M street. A witness reported a silver Nissan had ran into the building and drove away.

At 4:00 a.m. the silver Nissan, with damage matching the Enterprise building, was found abandoned.

Police are still looking for the suspect.
