DUI given following rollover accident

Pick Up Truck Rolled Near Salt Creek Rd.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — On Wednesday, around 6:30 in the morning, Lincoln Police responded to a report of motor vehicle collision near 300 Speedway Circle.  Once on scene, officers saw a pick-up truck that had rolled at least once, coming to a rest near Salt Creek Rd. Upon further investigation, officers identified 39-year-old Justin Sanmiguel as the driver. He had been heading eastbound on W. Van Dorn Street between Hwy 77 and Park Blvd when his vehicle left the roadway to the south.

The vehicle continued driving through a parking lot adjacent to W. Van Dorn where it struck and destroyed a section of wired fence. The pick up continued through a grass field and down the north bank of Salt Creek, where it rolled and came to a rest.

When officers contacted Sanmiguel, they noticed his behavior was erratic, irrational, and exhibited signs consistent with illicit substance use. Sanmiguel tested a .000 on a preliminary breath test, but a drug recognition expert also evaluated him and determined he was under the influence of a CNS stimulant. Officers cited Sanmiguel for a DUI, negligent driving, and no operator’s license.
