Lincoln woman arrested for stealing dog, binding man with duct tape

A Lincoln woman is behind bars for two crimes occurring in the last few days. 

Police said Celeste Phillips was involved in a robbery near 46th and Prescott over the weekend. In that case she’s accused of assaulting and binding the victim before stealing his phone. 

She’s also accused of breaking into a home near 5th and E street Sunday evening and stealing an 8-year-old chihuahua named Lolita. 

Lolita has now been returned to her owner. Police discovered Phillip’s connection after a roommate of a second person involved in the crime recognized the teacup chihuahua from the news. 

The second person involved is 21-year-old Halona Bearkiller, she was arrested for burglary. 

Phillips faces a slew of charges including robbery, false imprisonment and burglary. Police are looking into whether or not she’s connected to more crimes in the capital city.
