Four Nebraska businesses awarded for impact on Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Gov. Jim Pillen and the Nebraska Business Development Center awarded four businesses Wednesday afternoon for their standout contributions to Nebraska.
Pillen emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs to Nebraska’s economy and highlighted state resources that are available to support them.
The NBDC is one of those resources.
In 2023, it helped over 2,000 businesses owners and entrepreneurs across Nebraska.
“Owners who worked with us in 2023 had an impact of over $600 million on the Nebraska economy last year,” said the NBDC. “These businesses won $298 million in federal, state and local government contracts.”
The awards and the recipients are listed below.
Champion of Small Business – Gloria Patricia Avalos, founder and owner of Patty’s Childcare Center Inc. (Omaha)
Government Contractor of the Year – Prescription Pyro (Broken Bow)
Innovation Business of the Year – Bluestem Biosciences (Omaha)
