LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The tossing of a dead squirrel led to a man’s fifth DUI arrest in Lincoln this week, court documents say.

On Monday night, an officer was sent to a home near 56th Street and Leighton Avenue after a homeowner found a dead squirrel in his backyard.

Security video captured 38-year-old Christopher Oltjenbruns parking his pickup truck near the home, according to an arrest affidavit.

He got out, picked up a dead squirrel on the street and tossed it into the backyard, the affidavit alleges.

Oltjenbruns walked away and left his pickup truck where it was parked.

Later on, the officer saw the pickup truck’s lights turn on.  The officer followed the truck until it stopped at a nearby home.

Oltjenbruns was in the same shirt seen in the security video, the affidavit says.

He had a warrant out for his arrest and a revoked license.

Oltjenbruns was taken into custody and found to have a blood alcohol content of .114%, according to the affidavit.  The legal limit in Nebraska is .08%.

He was charged with fifth-offense DUI and driving with a revoked license.

A Lancaster County judge set Oltenbruns’ bond at $500,000.  He must pay $50,000 to be released from jail.
