Lincoln man arrested after multi-county pursuit, patrol says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Lincoln man led authorities on a multi-county chase Monday in Nebraska, the patrol says.
Around 11:30 p.m., troopers learned that Butler County sheriff’s deputies were chasing a Toyota Rav4 on Highway 92.
The driver had sped off after deputies checked on his vehicle, which was stopped on the side of the road, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
Authorities chased 36-year-old Matthew Ross of Lincoln through Butler, Polk and Merrick counties, according to the patrol.
The Central City Police Department used stop sticks to slow the vehicle down. It eventually came to a stop just north of Central City.
But Ross refused to come out of the vehicle and drove off again, the patrol said.
A trooper used his cruiser to bring Ross to a stop.
Ross was arrested on suspicion of flight to avoid arrest and willful reckless driving.
