Grammy-winning musician hosts workshop for LPS orchestra students
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Grammy Award winner held a special workshop Friday afternoon at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Scott Tixier is a five-time Grammy winner famous for his work on “The Lion King,” “Charlie’s Angels” and “John Wick.”
His workshop at the Westbrook Music Building was for Lincoln Public Schools orchestra students.
It taught how to play improvised music on a classical instrument, specifically stringed instruments.
Tixier found lots of success early in his career, working with John Legend, Hans Zimmer, Stevie Wonder and many other talented musicians.
He is currently a music professor at the University of North Texas.
Tixier will perform Friday night at the Glenn Korff School of Music at 7:30. This event is free to the public.
