Thanks to community donors, McPhee kindergarteners spent the day at Roca Berry Farm

Every year hundreds of students head to Roca Berry Farm to take part in a favorite fall tradition, and this year, thanks to the help of the community among those students are McPhee Elementary kindergarteners.

Their teacher Kayla Stephens said they’ve been looking forward to the trip for weeks, and it was better than they

could have imagined.

They rode on a hayrack ride and picked out a perfect pumpkin and got hands on learning experience.

For so many kids, this day at a pumpkin patch is an annual rite of passage, but not for these students.

“A lot of our families aren’t able to have an opportunity to come visit otherwise,” Stephens said.

They’re here thanks to community donations raised by the Foundation for LPS.

Stephens said they’ve been going for years, and it’s all thanks to donors.

“Our elementary school relies a lot on community involvement and donations and without them we wouldn’t be able to do half the things we do,” Stephens said.

The Foundation for LPS holds fundraising events year round for programs like this. Stay updated here: https://www.foundationforlps.org/
