Two females jump on moving car to retrieve phone

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Wednesday night, around 8:30, Lincoln police were called to the 1600 block of Prospect on a possible vehicle accident. When they arrived on the scene, officers spoke with a 16-year-old who claimed her phone was stolen.
The victim had agreed to sell her Apple iPhone to someone over SnapChat for 800 dollars. She arranged to meet a male buyer near 16th and Prospect Streets. Two of the victim’s friends accompanied her to the transaction. The victim said the male arrived in a car with three other people. As she handed the home to him to look at, he jumped back in the car and drove off.
However, the victim and one of her friends, a 15-year-old, jumped on to the vehicle as it was fleeing. They were eventually thrown from the vehicle, hitting the pavement and causing non-life-threatening injuries to both females.
The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information concerning this case is encouraged to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000.
