Ticket for shoplifting leads to more charges for Lincoln man

Lincoln Police arrested 43-year-old Robert Wiley Monday on multiple charges including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon.
All of those charges came after Wiley was caught shoplifting at the Walmart near 84th and Highway 2. Officer Angela Sands said the officer saw Wiley’s license was suspended after ticketing him for the shoplift. Then saw Wiley driving away from the store.
The officer pulled him over, Sands said. That’s when Wiley admitted he had a rifle in his car, which, as a felon, he’s not allowed to have. After searching they also found a small amount of meth, Sands said.
On top of the charges he faces, he was also cited for driving under suspension, no proof of insurance, no valid registration and shoplifting.
