Team of scammers confuse cashiers, get away with money

A team of scammers got away with nearly $200 after confusing cashiers at Target and Hyvee.
Lincoln Police Officer Chassidy Jackson-Goodwin said a black male in his 40’s and a black female entered the Target at 48th and O street and purchased a giftcard for $2. The man paid the cashier with a $100 bill and received about $97 back in change.
Then, Jackson-Goodwin said the man kept asking for change back in different amounts and bills, confusing the cashier and ending up with more money back than he should have had.
The couple performed a similar scam at the Hyvee on 50th and O street and got away with $100.
Police are reviewing surveillance video.
