Fair at Lincoln Northeast gives students a look at UNL science programs

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Lincoln Northeast High School hosted a college fair Wednesday evening with the University of Nebraska Lincoln.

The event promoted the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

Students of the high school got a glimpse of UNL’s animal and food science, engineering, forensic science and pre-veterinary programs.

The event was at the same time as the students’ parent-teacher conferences.

The coordinators — Tammera Mittelstet of the ag science college and Northeast Principal Keri Applebee — said that was to make it more convenient for students.

“We thought it might be a fun opportunity to try to also do it on the evening of conferences because we already typically have a community of stakeholders that come to the school,” Applebee said.

UNL and Northeast hope to partner again to give even more students a chance to make connections and visualize their future endeavors.
