Thunderstorms bring heavy rain

 

 

 

Todays storms produced heavy rains creating the threat for possible flooding through Sunday afternoon.

Isolated severe thunderstorms are still possible on Sunday for portions of eastern Nebraska and Kansas.

Lows tonight will be around ten degrees cooler in central and western Nebraska than the eastern portion of the state.

Highs for Sunday will be close to normal as we head towards the end of April.

Normal highs for late April and early May average in the upper 60’s so the next ten days we’ll be close to seasonal.

As low pressure continues to move out of southeast Kansas and a warm front lifts through the region thunderstorms will continue to fire in portions of eastern and southwest Nebraska with the strongest from eastern Iowa southwest into Oklahoma.  Further west the backspin of the storm complex is pulling down cold Canadian air into the Rockies and snow stretches from Cheyenne, Wyoming to Denver and south into New Mexico.

By Monday skies begin to clear as we finally see sunshine and some drier conditions.
