LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska pitcher Jackson Brockett earned multiple accolades Monday for his no-hitter last week.

Brockett was named the Big Ten Pitcher of the Week and earned Pitcher of the Week honors from D1Baseball and Perfect Game.

In his first start of the season, Brockett threw the sixth no-hitter in program history against Kansas State on May 1.

He had a career-high 12 strikeouts on 107 pitches.  That’s the most strikeouts for any Husker pitcher this season.

Richard Geier threw Nebraska’s last nine-inning no-hitter in 1954 vs. Kansas.

Nebraska returns to Haymarket Park on Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. to face South Dakota State.  That game is being broadcast on Big Ten Plus.
