Male dead after hit-and-run crash in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — One person was killed Tuesday night in a hit-and-run crash in north Lincoln.

About 8:20 p.m., police received a report of a male lying unconscious on Cornhusker Highway near 37th Street.

First responders performed life-saving measures on him at the scene. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Lincoln Police Department said they are investigating it as a hit-and-run because of the nature of the injuries.

The department said it believes the man was hit by a car and the driver later left.

One witness, who wants to remain anonymous, said she was on her way back home when she saw a person lying in the road.

“None of the neighbors heard or saw anything,” the witness said. “We did not see any glass, any car fragments, head lights, plastic or bumper pieces.”
