Third day in a row, two more COVID deaths reported

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – For the third day in a row, two Lancaster County residents have passed from COVID-19, bringing the week’s death total to six.

Today’s deaths – hospitalized women in their 80’s and 40’s – brings the community total to 41.

The county’s total number of coronavirus cases is now up to 8,445, as 106 additional cases confirmed today.

Reported recoveries have also increased from 3,665 to 3,723.

The overall positivity rate remains at 8.9% for Lancaster County and 10.8% for the state.

A total of 57 people were hospitalized with the virus in local hospitals, 28 of whom are Lancaster County residents (five on ventilators).

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
