Coronavirus death reported, fourth day in a row

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Another somber day for Lancaster county as another coronavirus death is reported, bringing the week’s death total to seven.

According to the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department, today’s death was a man in his 70s.

With four consecutive days of coronavirus deaths being reported, the total number is now up to 42.

Eighty-one new COVID-19 cases were also counted today, bringing the county’s total to 8,526.

Reported recoveries have also increased from 3,723 to 3,750.

The overall positivity rate remains at 8.9% for Lancaster County, but the state’s increased to 10.9%.

A total of 56 people were hospitalized with the virus in local hospitals, 28 of whom are Lancaster County residents (five on ventilators).

Common symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough, shortness of breath, repeated shaking with chills, repeated muscle pain, headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell.
