Pair of Husker sluggers selected to Northwoods League All-Star game

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Max Buettenback and Case Sanderson are having themselves a summer.

The two Nebraska baseball players have been selected to represent the Great Plains Division in the Northwoods League All-Star game.

The Northwoods League is a summer baseball league where college baseball players can develop their skills in the offseason.

Buettenback is among the Northwoods league leaders this summer, ranking in the top-10 of six offensive categories.

In 30 games with the Willmar Stingers, Buettenback has a league-best .442 batting average.

Buettenback also ranks second in the league in on-base percentage (.565), slugging percentage (.699) and OPS (1.264).

Sanderson is having a consistent showing from the plate with a .363 batting average.

He also has six doubles and three home runs in 21 games with the La Crosse Loggers.

The All-Star game will take place on July 23 at ISG Field in Mankato, Minnesota.
