Man killed in crash while hauling trash in southwest Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A McCook city employee was killed Thursday morning in a crash.

Just before 8 a.m., a semitrailer hauling trash crashed in Hitchcock County, according to the city.

The driver, Wayne Cook, was pronounced dead.

He was heading to a landfill near Ogallala, the city said.

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating the crash.
