Police identify pedestrian killed in crash near Lincoln casino

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed Sunday morning in a crash near the Lincoln casino.
The crash happened around 12:55 a.m. near First Street and Denton Road, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
Investigators think 25-year-old Rico Benavidez of Crete was hit by an eastbound vehicle on Denton Road.
Police said Benavidez was not in a crosswalk.
Benavidez was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, police said.
