Crews investigating church fire in town southeast of Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Crews battled a church fire early Friday evening in a small town just southeast of Lincoln.

Neighbors spotted flames from the Lutheran Church in Sterling, 45 miles southeast of Lincoln in Johnson County.

Firefighters have been on the scene all night putting out the fire.

Channel 8 viewer Rodney sent in the video of smoke coming from the church’s steeple.

There is no word yet on how much damage the fire caused or how it started.
