LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) —  Forty-eight attorney generals across the nation, including Nebraska’s Doug Peterson, are filing a lawsuit against Facebook for allegedly illegally stifling competition.

Specifically, Facebook is charged with violating Section 2 of the Sherman Act, which makes it unlawful to monopolize any part of trade or commerce.

According to the lawsuit, it is believed  “in an effort to maintain its market dominance in social networking, Facebook employs a variety of methods to impede competition,” such as buying out smaller rivals or hindering third-party developers.
