Canada authorized the Pfizer vaccine, is the US next?
The FDA meets today to determine if the Pfizer vaccine will be used in America

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN)- The U.S. is debating the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine today, but Canada already gave it the green light yesterday.
The Federal Health Agency has deemed the vaccine effective and safe for use on Canadians.
Canada should be getting roughly 250,000 coronavirus vaccine doses by the end of the year. The very first vaccinations are expected to happen next week.
This decision comes a week after the United Kingdom approved the vaccine there.
In the U.S., the FDA is meeting today to determine whether the Pfizer vaccine will be authorized for emergency use.
Once authorized here, it will only take days for the first Americans to receive the vaccine.
If the vaccine is approved today, the first shipment of more than 15,000 doses would be distributed in Nebraska, starting on Sunday. Later in the month, we could be getting the first shipment of vaccines from Moderna.
The FDA meeting begins at 8 am, the Pfizer presentation begins at 12 pm ET, we will be following this story throughout the day today, make sure to turn on our push notifications for the latest updates.
