At least one dead after two separate plane crashes in northeast Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Two small planes were downed Monday morning in separate northeast Nebraska crashes.
The first crash happened around 9:30 a.m. in Knox County, 4 miles southwest of Crofton.
First responders found the pilot, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
Officials said the pilot was the lone occupant of the plane.
The name of the pilot will be released after the family is notified.
The second crash happened a short time later near Wayne.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating that crash and said details will be released when ready.
Officials said the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate both crashes as well.
Troopers are using drones to survey both crash scenes to help in each investigation.
