LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Clatonia man was arrested Wednesday after trying to run over people with a tractor in rural Gage County, the sheriff’s office says.

Around 3:20 p.m., deputies were sent to a property near Southwest 100th Road and West Buckeye Road, just south of Clatonia.

Deputies from the Saline County Sheriff’s Office were also called in to help.

The sheriff’s office said an 80-year-old man was arguing with a neighbor over “property access” when he got into a tractor and tried blocking access to the other person’s property.

The dispute escalated as the man rammed the tractor into a forklift, which was being driven by the neighbor, the sheriff’s office said.

The man then nearly ran over workers the neighbor had hired, authorities said.

He was arrested on suspicion of three counts of third-degree assault and second-degree criminal trespass.
