Athlete of the Week: Huskers’ Sarah Weber completes hat trick

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – History repeated itself in Lincoln last week.

Senior Husker soccer star Sarah Weber went for a hat trick on Aug. 18 in the team’s first win of the season.

Fifteen days later, she did it again in a 5-2 win over Creighton.

She talked about her and the team’s success after the win.

“It started with our backline and midfield stepping and winning the ball,” she said. “That’s something we hadn’t been doing as strongly in other games.”

Through six games this year, Weber has accounted for 70% of the team’s offense.

The Huskers began a five-game road trip Thursday, where Weber added in another goal.

That puts her at four total goals in the past week.

The Huskers sit at 3-3, and Weber and the team will look to keep that magic rolling Thursday night in Iowa City.
