No. 5 Husker volleyball defeats No. 9 Creighton in five sets

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – No. 5 Nebraska volleyball defeated No. 9 Creighton at home Tuesday night.

The Huskers won the first two sets at the Devaney Center 25-19 and 25-16.

But the Bluejays made things more interesting in the third set.

The set was tied 23-23, and both teams traded points until Creighton prevailed 33-31.

Creighton took control in the fourth set, winning 25-15.

But the Huskers got the upper hand in the fifth set, beating their in-state rival 15-10.

Overall, Nebraska narrowly outhit Creighton .234% to .209%.

Harper Murray led the way for the Huskers with 16 kills. Andi Jackson and Lindsay Krause each had 15, and Merritt Beason added 14.

Lexi Rodriguez racked up 21 digs.

Murray was next with 14, followed by Bergen Reilly with 13 and Laney Choboy with 12.

The Huskers next play Arizona State on Friday.

The match will be broadcast at 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
