Colorado homicide suspect arrested after chase in Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man wanted for a homicide in Colorado was arrested Sunday evening after a chase in Lincoln, police say.
Around 8:15 p.m., officers were sent to 17th and Washington streets on a report of a disturbance involving a “private property accident.”
Officers spoke to several people, including 30-year-old Zachary Rice who provided a fake name, according to police.
Police said Rice eventually gave his real name, and investigators learned he had warrants out for his arrest.
Rice pushed away from officers and ran away, LPD said.
Officers, along with the help of the Nebraska State Patrol’s helicopter, found Rice near 20th and A streets and took him into custody.
Police said he was wanted on a warrant for homicide in Denver.
