Nebraska punter Brian Buschini earns Big Ten weekly honor

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Nebraska punter Brian Buschini was honored on Monday as the Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week.
The senior punter impacted Saturday’s game in a big way, helping the Huskers get a 14-7 victory over Rutgers.
Buschini averaged 50.2 yards on five punts, including punts of 61 and 69 yards straight into 25 mph winds.
The 69-yard punt pinned Rutgers inside its own 15-yard line in the game’s final minutes, helping Nebraska secure the victory.
The Helena, Montana, native also pitched in with his arm, throwing a 30-yard pass to Jalen Lloyd on a fake punt in the third quarter.
The last time Nebraska had a Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week was Quinton Newsome in 2023 after he returned a blocked field goal for a touchdown against Purdue.
