Beatrice man will stand trial in girlfriend’s slaying

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The case against a Beatrice man accused of killing his girlfriend moved forward on Wednesday.
Gage County Judge Jeffrey Gaertig found probable cause to try 51-year-old Christopher Milke and sent the case to district court.
Early in the morning of Sept. 8, police allege that Milke fatally shot Tammy Leslie four times.

Court documents say he refused to come out of the house and wouldn’t let his children out either.
After about two hours, police forced their way inside and arrested Milke.
He is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
His arraignment in Gage County District Court is set for Nov. 13.
