New LPD enforcement project focuses on Husker football game days
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department on Thursday announced a new game day enforcement project.
The project will take place during Husker football home games and focus on traffic safety and alcohol compliance, with an emphasis on driving under the influence.
LPD said officers will respond to disturbances and other crimes that increase on game days and be on patrol to enforce traffic laws.
The enforcement project will give officers grant-funded overtime paid for by the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
