18 traffic deaths in Nebraska in February

During the month of February, 18 people died in 14 crashes in Nebraska, according to the Nebraska Dept. of Transportation.
That’s the same number as last year.
Of those accidents nine of the 16 people in the vehicles were not wearing seat belts.
There were three deaths on the interstate, 13 on other highways and two on local roads.
14 of those killed were in rural areas.
Two fatalities included pedestrians.
The Nebraska Dept. of Transportation urges drivers to use extra caution, avoid distractions and always wear your seat belt.
