Nebraska takes top spot in NCAA volleyball committee rankings

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Nebraska volleyball team on Sunday was ranked No. 1 in the country by the NCAA D-I Volleyball Committee.
The committee released its rankings between the first and second sets of the Pittsburgh vs. Stanford match.

Creighton just missed out on the top 5 as they landed at No. 6 on the list. Seven of the top 16 teams are in the Big Ten.
The committee looked at several factors when determining the rankings, with an emphasis on head-to-head results, top-10 wins and strength of schedule.
These rankings give fans an inside look as to what the postseason tournament bracket will look like in December.
AVCA’s rankings will be released Monday afternoon.
