Gov. Ricketts signs law for short-term rentals

Gov. Pete Ricketts has signed a new bill into law that keeps cities in Nebraska from prohibiting short-term rentals, such as AirBnB and Home Away.
The bill passed 46-0 in the legislature and was signed, Thursday.
The bill introduced by Sen Adam Morfeld eases restrictions that bigger cities have put in place to prevent short-term rentals in cities.
These rentals are still taxable, so lawmakers believe it will bring additional revenue to the state as well.
Gov. Ricketts says the new law will expand opportunity around communities and help the Nebraska economy.
