Nebraska high school football state championship roundup

LINCOLN, Neb (KLKN) – Three high school football teams hoisted their respective state championship trophies Tuesday at Memorial Stadium.

In Class C-2, Norfolk Catholic

claimed its third straight championship over Bishop Neumann 27-13.

The Knights had a slight edge over the Cavaliers at halftime, leading 7-6.

Norfolk exploded on offense in the second half, scoring 20 points led by senior running back Trevin Sukup.

In Class C-1 Wahoo took down Central City 47-7.

The Bison kept things close after two quarters, trailing just 14-0 at the break.

But the Warriors dominated in the second half enroute to their 40-point blowout win.

Finally, Class B saw an instant classic at Memorial Stadium.

Omaha Skutt Catholic and Bennington went down to the wire, with the Skyhawks slipping past the Badgers 29-26.
