Nebraska volleyball team gets second No. 1 seed in NCAA Volleyball Tournament

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The road to a volleyball national championship will go through Lincoln for 16 squads, as the Huskers were selected as one of the four No. 1 seeds on Sunday.

The Nebraska volleyball team found out its placement on ESPN’s NCAA Volleyball Tournament show, getting a first-round matchup with Florida A&M.

The Lady Rattlers are coming off a Southwestern Athletic Conference championship last Sunday, finishing their season with a 27-6 record.

South Dakota State and Miami will also take a trip to the Bob Devaney Center to play their first round match, with the winner playing Nebraska or Florida A&M.

Fellow Big Ten Champion Penn State was also slotted as a No. 1 seed, as well as seven other Big Ten teams getting a bid:

Oregon, Minnesota, Washington, Purdue, Illinois, USC and Wisconsin.

In-state rival Creighton was also in play for one of the No. 1 seeds, but got placed as a No. 2 seed in Penn State’s bracket.

First serve for Nebraska vs Florida A&M will be at 7 p.m. on Friday.
