Warmer days on the way before a brief cold snap

Lincoln has not been above freezing since 6 p.m. Sunday evening. So as of 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, we’ve been running at 36 hours at or below freezing and counting!

Yet Omaha‘s cold temperature streak is even longer. They’ve been at or below freezing since about 4:30 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

A warm front moving east will help temperatures to the middle 50s and even some 60s out west. Eastern Nebraska will stay cooler with temperatures warming to the upper 30s and low 40s.

A cold front comes through late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning that drives a change in the wind direction, but it’ll take some time to pull in the colder air. We’ll be close to 50 on Wednesday and windy, before a brief cold snap by Thursday.

Next 2 Days

It’s a short-lived period of colder temperatures, too. Friday we’ll warm up again, and yet the upcoming weekend looks even warmer.

End Of Week 2day

We’re talking middle 50s for temperatures on Saturday and Sunday… a better time if you’re looking at putting up the outdoor Christmas lights!
