One injured in north Lincoln crash as roads ice up

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — At least two vehicles collided in north Lincoln on Friday as freezing rain made roads slick.

The crash was reported about 4 p.m. on the Cornhusker Highway bridge over Salt Creek, near 27th Street.

The bed of a pickup truck was ripped off, and the front end of an SUV was smashed in.

Traffic was backed up on Cornhusker, according to a Channel 8 reporter at the scene.

Police said one person was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Lt. Brian Golden said icy roads contributed to multiple crashes during the evening commute.
