Police investigating string of robberies in west Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a string of robberies along O Street in west Lincoln.
Just after 7:30 p.m. on Friday, officers were sent to the Dollar General near Northwest 20th and O streets on the report of a robbery.
An employee told police that a man in his 30’s or 40’s wearing a black or blue jacket with a tan liner, a red plaid shirt, grey pants and white shoes entered the store.
When the employee opened the cash drawer, the man reached over the counter and began taking the money while verbally threatening the employee, according to LPD.
Officials said the man threatened to shoot the employee.
The man did not pull a gun on her, and the employee said she didn’t see one. Police said the man left with an unknown amount of money.
About five minutes later, employees at the Casey’s across the street reported an attempted robbery by a man with the same description.
The man demanded cigarettes and cash, but nothing was taken, according to LPD.
Employees said he had his hand in his jacket pocket, implying he had a weapon, but none was taken out.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
