Lincoln looking into future facilities for LPS

Tuesday, the first meeting to discuss the future of facilities within Lincoln Public Schools will be held, two weeks ahead of schedule.

The Superintendent Facilities Advisory Committee is made up of 100 community and school stakeholders.

The group will take a look at what the scope of LPS should look like in the next seven-10 years.

As the district continues to grow, there is a growing demand for more schools.

Four of the districts, six high schools have 2,000 or more students.

The district has more than 42,000 students currently enrolled.
