Lincoln Public Schools issues important reminder to register early for food stamps or SNAP

This morning, Lincoln Public Schools has a heads up for parents whose family is helped by the SNAP Program, or food stamps.

Any Nebraska family, who is a snap recipient and whose benefits are up for re-certification this month, must complete all necessary re-certification paperwork by January 15th, Tuesday, in order to receive their food stamps in February.

Again, the deadline is today.

It was moved up because of the partial government shutdown.
