Nebraska State Patrol recruits begin training

The Nebraska State Patrol is in need of more troopers, and training 16 recruits has just begun.

Seth Olsen, one of those recruits, said, “It’s a big dream of mine for a long time. I’m excited, it’s been a lot work, but worth it.”

The state patrol is aiming to have two new recruiting classes in 2019, something they haven’t done before.

Basic Recruit Camp 60 started Monday at NSP’s Training Academy in Grand Island.

Those recruits will go through 22 weeks of training and graduate on June 21st.

The recruits consist of people from Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

The next class starts in July, and you can apply on NSP’s website below.
