Lincoln teen found guilty of aiding girlfriend in her father’s killing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A Lincoln teenager was convicted Friday of helping his girlfriend kill her father.

Isaac Honigschmidt, 18, pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting a felony and tampering with physical evidence.

The murder happened on Oct. 3, 2022, at an apartment near 40th Street and Nebraska Parkway.

Police said then-15-year-old Sallie Gilmer stabbed her father, Jessie Gilmer Jr., multiple times.

She and Honigschmidt planned the killing a week in advance, according to court documents.

Sallie Gilmer was tired of the mental abuse from her father, according to an arrest affidavit.

Police said Honigschmidt gave her a ride from school to the apartment that day so she could stab her father.

He also tried to make it look like the couple were in school at the time of the murder.

Gilmer was found guilty of second-degree murder in November. She is set to be sentenced Jan. 30.

Honigschmidt’s sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 21.
